Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, architecture, and implementation of Salesforce B2B Commerce Cloud solutions, including storefront configuration, catalogue management, pricing, and checkout flows.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical designs, producing high-quality solution design documents and data models.
  • Develop and review custom Apex, LWC (Lightning Web Components), and Visualforce components, ensuring alignment with Salesforce best practices and governor limits.
  • Oversee integrations between B2B Commerce Cloud and downstream systems (ERP, CRM, PIM, payment gateways) using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and MuleSoft/middleware platforms.
  • Define and enforce coding standards, peer-review processes, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD using Salesforce DX / GitHub Actions / Copado).
  • Partner with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to refine epics and user stories, providing accurate technical estimates.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce developers and administrators, conducting regular knowledge-sharing sessions and technical coaching.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to deliver seamless, responsive B2B Commerce storefronts leveraging Experience Cloud and LWR (Lightning Web Runtime).
  • Drive performance optimization, security hardening, and scalability reviews across the Salesforce org.
  • Manage platform releases, sandbox strategies, and change management activities to ensure zero-defect production deployments.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison with Salesforce AEs, solution engineers, and support teams to resolve platform-level blockers.

Required Technical Skills

B2B Commerce Cloud

  • Proven, hands-on experience designing and implementing Salesforce B2B Commerce (formerly CloudCraze) solutions, including Re-Order, Quick-Order, Account Hierarchy pricing, and contract-based pricing.
  • Deep understanding of B2B Commerce data model, managed package configuration, and storefront customization.
  • Experience delivering B2B Commerce on Lightning (LWR-based) storefronts.

Salesforce Platform

  • Expert-level proficiency in Apex, SOQL/SOSL, LWC, Aura components, and Salesforce DX.
  • Strong declarative configuration skills: Flows, Process Builder, Approval Processes, Validation Rules, and Custom Metadata.
  • Experience with Salesforce CPQ, Revenue Cloud, or Service Cloud is advantageous.

Integrations & Architecture

  • Solid experience architecting and implementing API-led integrations using REST/SOAP, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and Pub/Sub API.
  • Exposure to MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or equivalent middleware platforms.
  • Familiarity with ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) in B2B contexts.

DevOps & Tools

  • Proficiency with Salesforce DX (SFDX CLI), source-driven development, and scratch org management.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools: Copado, Gearset, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Comfortable working within Agile/SAFe delivery frameworks using Jira, Confluence, or similar.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 8 to 15 years of total IT experience, with a minimum of 4 years in Salesforce-specific roles.
  • At least 3 full end-to-end B2B Commerce Cloud implementations in a Technical Lead or Senior Developer capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional Salesforce delivery teams of 5+ members.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to executive and business audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Salesforce Order Management (OMF) or D2C Commerce (B2C Commerce / SFRA).
  • Exposure to headless commerce architectures and PWA Kit.
  • Knowledge of Australian e-commerce regulations, GST handling, and payment standards.
  • Prior experience working within Australian Federal or State Government digital commerce projects.
